Flightmode is an Australian lifestyle and luggage company that produces high-quality, durable luggage. We strive to design and produce our luggage and travel stuff with the best of the past and the technology of our present. All our luggage represents the best of what Flightmode stands for. Our luggage materials are made of high-quality aluminium and we settle for nothing less. This makes them a popular choice among professionals who need to transport valuable or delicate items. Explore the full range of aluminium trolley bags, suitcases, and cabin luggage at EUME.
But spending twice as much doesn’t get you wheels that are twice as good, twice the packing space, or a suitcase that’s twice as useful. I’ve used 50/50 layouts, deep 80/20 compartments, compression panels, and Rimowa’s Flex Dividers. They all pack differently, and a good layout can make 35 liters feel surprisingly roomy. You’re paying partly for protection and durability, but also for the engineering, materials, design, manufacturing, and, yes, the way it looks. But when you’ve bought too much on the way home and need another inch of suitcase, aluminum has no sympathy. You cannot bully it closed the way you aliminium luggage can a flexible polycarbonate shell.

Aluminium’s natural oxide layer forms a barrier against moisture, salt, and UV rays, ensuring your suitcase remains pristine season after season. Advanced locking systems and reinforced corners provide an extra layer of security, giving you peace of mind wherever you roam. For minimum weight and lowest price, polycarbonate is the better choice. All sizes include anti-microbial laundry and shoe bags. "This bag went through construction sites, puddles, potholes, and got checked once too. A quick wipe and it looked brand new again." Lightweight, resilient, and built to take on whatever the journey brings.
Its long lifespan means fewer replacements and less environmental impact over time. Aluminum suitcases generally offer strong water resistance thanks to tight seals and non-porous shells, though they’re not completely waterproof. Protect electronics and valuables inside with separate waterproof pouches if traveling in rainy conditions.
My older test model was  originally listed at 8.81 pounds and 36 liters, so the Hybrid I own isn’t identical to the one Monos sells today. If low weight is the reason you’re considering it over full aluminum, the current numbers aren’t especially compelling. Let go of one, and it slowly lowers itself back into place instead of hitting the case with a metallic clunk. It’s a tiny thing, but one I appreciate every time I use it. I love Sterling’s 80/20 trunk-style interior for bulky items, while Rimowa’s Flex Dividers are great at keeping everything in place. Personally, I think the Sterling looks more luxurious.

For longer journeys, our luggage covers guard against dirt and scuffs. I borrowed a Rimowa Original Cabin for one trip and liked it. The wheels are excellent on smooth surfaces, the stage-free handle is a dream to use, the Flex Dividers are surprisingly practical, and everything feels beautifully made.
At writing, the case comes in Silver, Emerald Green, Black, Silver (with an optical illusion), and Titanium, which are more options than most other brands. Some travellers want luggage that stays visually clean for as long as possible. This guide breaks down the differences in plain terms – weight, durability, dents vs scuffs, and which material tends to suit different travel styles. Our Lifetime Warranty+ plans cover the mishaps of modern travel – from airline damage to lost bags. The 100-day trial applies to unused items in brand-new condition, with original packaging. Take your time to be sure you’ve found the right travel companion.

The telescoping handle has three levels, which allows you to switch things up but does not offer sweeping options for tall and short travelers. Still, it’s a comfortable experience, even if you can’t find the perfect height. Every piece is designed to last  and is backed by our limited lifetime warranty.
This is a very heavy carry-on, and on an airline with a strict 15 lb (7 kg) cabin allowance, more than half of your allowance is gone before you’ve packed your underwear. They’re 2.5 inches in diameter, partially recessed into the case, and much larger than the little spinner wheels I’m used to. The biggest surprise, though, was the two-wheel design. Four-wheel spinners have become so standard that going back to two wheels on a suitcase this expensive seemed eccentric. At 10.8 pounds empty, it’s one of the heavier cases in this guide.
It’s also the roomiest full-aluminum carry-on here at 41 liters, and you can feel those extra liters when you pack. The Hinomoto wheels are smooth and fast, but my favorite feature is the trolley handle. Carl Friedrik’s any-stop system locks wherever you stop pulling it instead of giving you two or three predetermined heights. It gives you the build, zipperless construction, and unmistakable look of full aluminum luggage without wandering into four-figure territory. There are more beautifully made cases here, and others I prefer in certain ways, but the TREVA is the one I’d recommend most easily.
