The Domaine was founded in the 1970s following the marriage of Jean-François Coche and Odile Dury, although the Coche family has been making wine in Meursault for several generations. Proving once again that you have to know the fruit source of any Bourgogne level wines. Javillier's are both from vineyards in Meursault. The Cuvée de Forgets from the Volnay side and the Cuvée Oligocène from the Puligny side. The 2022 Meursault has a perfumed bouquet that's more floral with extra red fruit tones and Pinot Noir DNA compared to the Auxey-Duresses. The palate is crisp on the entry with crunchy red fruit, fine mineralité and a vivid, graphite-tinged finish that lingers in the mouth. This is a classy red Meursault with fine length.

Meursault Les Rougeots exudes intense aromas of honey, toast, and hazelnut. The palate is rich, rounded, and extremely precise. This wine should be aged for 10 years before drinking. The most “common” wine from Coche-Dury is his generic Meursault, which is perhaps not quite as generic as one might expect from the table above. There are in total 7-8 different village Meursaults, all vinified and bottled separately. Vinificationen is fairly traditional, but with quite frequent battonage. Fermentation takes place on oak cask, and the proportion of new oak varies from year to year, but generally Coche-Dury uses quite a lot new oak. In some years they have used up to 50% new casks on the top wines. The wines are raised in barral for 15 to 22 months, and are bottled without filtration.
